JAC's Bars and restaurants in Whangaparaoa

JAC's (Jellicoe & Cradock): This bar/restaurant changed owners in late 2012 and was previously named Imbibe and Sizzle. The new owners have made some major changes to the layout, decor and menu and the new approach has been a huge success.

JAC's offers both bar snack and formal dining options and the cuisine is typical New Zealand style steak, fish 'n' chips, pizza, great salads and more.

The bar has great views that look out on to Whangaparaoa Bay and their seated balcony area is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beer or two in the sun.

The bar now has a more younger and vibrant atmosphere with entertainment several nights a week including live bands, quiz nights and special meal deal nights.

Abruzzo Italian restaurant Whangaparaoa

Abruzzo: An authentic Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere and food to match.

The restaurant is situated approximately 5 kilometres along the Whangaparaoa Road just short of the main shopping plaza. There's ample parking and a children's train ride attraction next-door making this a great location for a family day out and lunch.

Abruzzo offers a more formal dining experience with the option to bring you own (BYO) wine making it that little more affordable. The restaurant is a favourite for locals and it's advisable to book in advanced for larger groups especially on weekend evenings.

Thai restaurant

Maison Thai: Authentic Thai restaurant situated in the beautiful Manly Village approximately nine kilometres along the Whangaparaoa Road.

The restaurant has an extensive Thai menu including seafood, stir fried and Thai curry.

Maison Thai is located on the first floor of the Manly Village shops and above Sparx Cafe. With two complete glass walls that open out on warmer evenings this location has nice views and is very comfortable on those hot summer nights.

They also offer a takeout option so you can enjoy your meal in the comfort of your own house, campervan or even down at the beach.

Raviz: This restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere close to the Whangaparaoa Plaza.

With a large range of options, very reasonable prices  and great food this is a must for Indian food lovers.

Raviz also offers a takeaway option and free delivery (order over $25) so you can enjoy your meal at home, the camp site or even the beach.

Neptunes Gulf Harbour

Neptunes: Neptune's offers a cafe or restaurant option overlooking the sail boats and small village of Gulf Harbour.

The cuisine is mainly standard New Zealand food i.e. fish & chips, burgers, salads and steaks. You can also visit just for a couple of drink with friends as the restaurant has a separate bar area and entertainment on certain evenings.

The bar is popular with local Gulf Harbour residents as it's the only bar and restaurant within easy walking distance to many homes.

Japanese food

Kinja: This restaurant offer authentic Japanese cuisine in a small friendly environment in Manly Village. The restaurant specialises in Katsu, Sushi and Teriyaki and is another favourite for locals.

It's advisable to book your table especially on weekend evenings as this is a small restaurant with limited seats. The restaurant also has a bar area and limited seating outside so people can just visit for a relaxing drink.
